This All Season ‘Kenyou’ Hishaku (water ladle) has been hand crafted by Artisan Tango Tanimura, and is suitable for use in any season. It is designed for use in the Tea Ceremony, or enthusiasts who want to add such an implement to their ritual of preparing matcha tea.
It is sculpted from two separate sections of bamboo. Using technique and precision, they are masterfully joined watertight, without the use of any glue or fastenings.
*Please note: as bamboo is a natural product, colour & markings may differ slightly to the product pictured

This shop is a great find. Yuko is an absolute star and a fitting representative for the work of such skilled artisans. This water ladle is a joy to behold and the craftsmanship is outstanding. Have also purchased a few chashaku to be used with different teas (white, red/dark, etc) during ceremony. Humbled to own teaware of such fine quality which has been made by a true master in the art.
