Matcha Sifter Copper Medium – Torii Kanaami
$49
This beautiful copper sifter is hand crafted at Torii Kanaami in Kyoto City. It features a unique bamboo handle and is designed to sit across a tea bowl in order to conveniently sift matcha before whisking. It has a mesh with larger holes than their range of strainers, and is therefore designed specifically as a sifter rather than a tea strainer.
Established in 1889, Torii Kanaami has a long history making utensils for tea, traditional Japanese cooking, and also netting that is used by Shrines, Temples, and Machiya townhouses throughout Kyoto.
The copper changes colour over time and use, adding a unique character to this already intricate utensil.
Size (Approx.) : Diameter 7cm / Depth 4.5cm / Handle 10.5cm
