Shaker Tea Box Fixed Handle #5 – Kenichi Okuno

This stunning ‘Shaker’ style wooden tea box/carrier has been meticulously hand crafted by Artisan Kenichi Okuno at his ‘Tiny Workshop’ in the countryside of Japan’s Noto Peninsula.

Shaker boxes were popularised by the Shaker folk community in the USA who refined and perfected the construction of these bentwood boxes.

They are made with beautiful cherry wood and feature distinctive ‘swallowtail’ joins fastened with copper tacks. This model has a fixed handle and is ideal for housing and displaying tea ware or anything you desire.

Okuno San is a talented woodworker who’s passion is honouring and continuing the tradition of hand crafting these unique pieces.
