This Yunomi tea cup is hand crafted by Yokkaichi based ceramic studio Nankei.
It has a beautiful cracked glaze that is designed to absorb the colour of tea over time which adds to the character of the cup.
Another unique feature of this cup is when hot water is first added to the cup, it can make a unique crackling sound.

Just received my new Sakura Yunomi today along with other Yunomi Cups that I ordered.
This is my third purchase and items from Nankei Ceremics. They make simple, minimalistic yet traditional pieces which I love.
These cute pastel pink cups remind me of Hanami season which I have never experienced yet, but hope to one day.
In the mean time, I’ll be using my new cups – they remind me of Spring in a cup when drinking tea in them.
