Tenmoku Chasen Mushakoujisenke – Tango Tanimura

This Tenmoku style Chasen has been hand made by 20th generation Master Bamboo Whisk Craftsman Tango Tanimura.

Sculpted from a single piece of Kurotake (black) bamboo that has air dried for around 3 years, this special utensil is ideal for creating an even and silky foam on the surface of your matcha tea.

It’s unique long and narrow handle is designed for use with Tenmoku Chawan (tea bowls), or Chawan that tend to be more narrow and/or with high walls.

It is a ‘Kankyuan’ style Chasen with straight tines/prongs designed for use by practitioners of the Mushakoujisenke school of tea ceremony, but can be used generally by anyone.
